Switzerland: Travelling To The Land Of Green Meadows, Lakes & The Alps

Switzerland is a beautiful country in Central Europe, built essentially in the Alps. Green meadows, countless lakes and snow-capped peaks give it a unique form, which has been identified around the world as a sign of peace and prosperity. The Swiss are still famous for their watches, knives, and chocolates. They are also famous for their ski resorts and chalets, which are the meeting place of the international jet set and their picturesque cities, most of which are built on the shores of a lake.

Christmas At Wollaton

(Gifted)

Christmas is right around the corner and we've been looking to do something a little festive! So many things though have ended up cancelled or availability lessened because of a certain virus doing the rounds.

A couple of the things we did have planned had to be cancelled because of a positive test in our house! Once we were able to roam free again we were keen to get in the Christmas mood!! So when the team behind Christmas at Wollaton contacted us and asked if we'd like to experience their very special Christmas lights there was a big.......YES......from all of us.

UK Staycation & Day Out Locations For 2021!!

Can we go abroad? Can we not? Do we need a vaccine passport? Shall we just stay home??

Many of us are staying in the UK for summer 2021 and it's a great way to support not just the UK economy but also UK tourism. It also means a little less disappointment if the holiday gets cancelled or you have to return home because of restrictions. No panic flight booking or queuing in airports for us staycationers!!

Not sure of where to go? Looking for some recommendations?

I asked my fellow bloggers where they would recommend when staycationing for 2021.

5 Things To Do As A Family When Lockdown Is Over

(Sponsored Post)

Lockdown. A word that this time last year we hadn't heard. We had just started hearing about a virus and were unaware as to how serious it would be.

With the UK currently in lockdown for the third time in a year, thoughts of what we can do in the future are rife for many of us. As more time passes the chances of us doing much at all are becoming less and less likely. It's annoying, disheartening and massively frustrating, but that doesn't mean that we can't at least make plans. Plans to see people. Plans for holidays. For adventures and happy times. Even if they are incredibly loose, likely to be cancelled plans!

Wondering If You'll Get A Holiday This Year? A Family Road Trip Might Be The Perfect Alternative!

(Collaborative Post)

Right now, we're all stuck inside for the foreseeable future, mostly on reduced incomes and tight budgets. So, if the chance for a holiday does arise, what can we do?

A road trip is a great low cost idea for a family holiday, and it’s the perfect way to explore a new country. You could even stay at home and take a road trip around some nearby spots that you haven’t visited before. When you are driving instead of flying, you get to see so much more of the country and discover exciting new places along the way, so it’s perfect for adventurous families that want a different travel experience. It also means that you don’t have to deal with flying with kids, which can be very stressful.

Planning and preparation are key if you want your road trip to run smoothly. If you are planning a family road trip, here are a few important things to remember.

Top Tips For Perfect Family Road Trips

(Collaborative Post)

Are you planning a family road trip? If so, you are probably looking forward to getting away from it all and enjoying the open road stretching out ahead of you. There are so many exciting places to explore and travelling by road is a great way to head off on an adventure. A road trip offers the opportunity to enjoy some beautiful scenery that you may not always get to see.

Before heading off on your road trip, it is essential to make sure that you have everything you need. When taking a road trip with kids ensuring that you have all the essentials with you is even more critical so that everyone can have an enjoyable trip.

Those of you that have followed me on Instagram or Facebook for a while will know that last November we visited the Snowdome to take a look at their Winter Wonderland and we were super excited when they asked us back again this year!

Return To Wordsworth House

Back in 2016 we visited Wordsworth House with a very little JJ. Having missed it on our last visit we decided to return this year on our most recent trip to the Lake District.

One of the many National Trust properties in the Lake District, Wordsworth House sits next to the river in the heart of Cockermouth. Birth place and childhood home of the Poet Laureate, William Wordsworth, the house is fixed in the 1770's and even has traditional food to try in the kitchen!

Sudbury Hall and the National Trust Museum of Childhood

Nestled in Derbyshire, Sudbury Hall and the National Trust Museum of Childhood, combines a historic country home and childhood memories of the past.

Arriving at Sudbury over a bank holiday weekend we found it to be quite popular. With the car park situated across the road from the main hall and museum, the walk takes you on a picturesque view up to the property.

How To Budget For A Day At The Disney Parks

We all know that going to Disney is expensive. Whether it be Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney World Florida a day in the parks can be expensive. A Casey's Corner hot dog here, a Mickey cookie there and the odd bit of cotton candy all add up.

Woolsthorpe Manor

Regular readers will know that we love a good day out and many of our adventures come in the form of a trip to National Trust properties. We've been members of the National Trust since a trip to the Lake District a couple of years ago and we try and use our passes at least six times a year.

We are frequent visitors to Belton House and not far from there, and similar travel difference from home, is place we'd never been too, Woolsthorpe Manor. A new place seemed a great way to start our adventures for the year.

Set in a Lincolnshire village, Woolsthorpe Manor is a 17th century manor house and childhood home of Sir Issac Newton.

RedKangaroo

Gifted Trip

Trampolining parks are quickly growing in popularity and are a great place for kids to burn off some energy! Having never had a trip to a trampoline park, we were excited when RedKangaroo invited us for a bounce at their Nottingham branch.
