UK Staycation & Day Out Locations For 2021!!

Can we go abroad? Can we not? Do we need a vaccine passport? Shall we just stay home??

Many of us are staying in the UK for summer 2021 and it's a great way to support not just the UK economy but also UK tourism. It also means a little less disappointment if the holiday gets cancelled or you have to return home because of restrictions. No panic flight booking or queuing in airports for us staycationers!!

Not sure of where to go? Looking for some recommendations?

I asked my fellow bloggers where they would recommend when staycationing for 2021.

Here's what they had to say!!

Melanie at Best Things To Do In Cambridge has some great ideas for the perfect day trip around the city. Take a look at The Perfect Day Trip To Cambridge here

Laura at Things To Do In Hampshire With Kids massively recommends Alice Holt Country Park, which offers family friendly bike trails and amazing playgrounds!!

Over at Maidenhead Mum, Jodie recommends Windsor. With Windsor Castle offering the changing of the guard and a chance to glimpse the Queen, there's also Legoland nearby. Plus there's also beautiful walks, spots to feed the ducks and hire boats!

The Geordie Grandma, Karen, suggests Kirkley Hall Zoo. Entry fees are low cost compared to many zoos and under 2's go free!!

Lulworth Cove is a favourite of the Exploring Dorset team and is great for families with dogs as our furry friends are allowed on the beach all year round!! There's lots to do and some great places for food.

At East Anglia Family Fun, they share all things Great Yarmouth with a great list of things to do there. With family in Norfolk, we'll be bookmarking this post for the future.

Josie at Chelmsford With Children loves Hylands Park and shares that it's their favourite place to visit! There's something for everyone with an adventure playground, a great cafe, artist studios and a secondhand bookshop. There's also woodland walks and a lake, which brings lots of ducks to feed!

My friend Rowena at Rowena's Teach and Travel loves the Eden Project. We haven't been for years and think it might be time for another trip!!

Over at Living With Warmth, Helen, offers a comprehensive map of all things kid friendly in London, which you can find here

Fossil hunting is something we've want to try for a while. Kara at Are We Nearly Yet? thoroughly recommends it with A Guided Fossil Hunting Walk In Charmouth

Planning a trip to Wales? Love a paddle in the sea? Katrina at Real Girls Wobble has searched for the best places for a dip and has found Beaches 30 Minutes From Cardiff. We've visited Wales a few times and would love to return for a paddle!

A historic recommendation for your 2021 staycation comes from Lorraine at
Quays Life. Blenheim Palace is a place that is on my list to visit soon. Steeped in history is a must if you like to wander in history.

The Flashpacking Family are sharing their favourite place to visit in the UK and it's Leeds Castle in Kent. It's another place that offers lots of history and is one of the most popular attractions in the UK. Karen at Karen's World also recommends Kent for a visit, with the coast at Folkestone her favorite.

Nikki at Best Things To Do In York, thoroughly recommends a trip to the city, with lots on offer from vikings to minster. York is ideal if you like a city with a small town feel. There's lots to love in York with Shelley at Wander and Luxe loving these 11 Brilliant Things To Do In York With Kids. Jo at A Rose Tinted World and her family also love the Yorkshire area and one of their favourite places to visit is Skipton Castle

At Kids To Cornwall, Sylvie, offers a bunch of ideas for a Cornwall based staycation this year. One of my favourite places in Cornwall is Polperro and it well worth a visit for your UK holiday this year.

A place both ourselves and Me, Him, The Dog and The Baby have visited and loved is Roarr!! Dinosaur Adventure in Norfolk! With woodland trails and dinosaurs to spot, splash zone and a race way, there is lots to see!

Dad blogger fave, Robbie at Paternal Damnation, visited Eureka in Halifax and loves that there is something on offer for all ages! Including the grownups! You'll want to add it to your day trip list this year.

The Children of Wanderlust family are recommending Alton Towers and The CBeebies Land Hotel for your 2021 staycation!

Anne at The Platinum Line shares that Bristol harbour is a great place for a visit and shares 7 Things To Do With Children Near Bristol Harbour

A place I've never thought of visiting is Essex but with the 9 Incredible Places To Experience Natural Beauty shared by Jen at Land of Size I think it's time it made it on to my list of places I'd like to go.

Now, last on our very full list of places to visit for your staycation this year has to be my favourite. It's the home of one of my favourite authors and is always top of my list during a visit to the Lake District.

Beatrix Potters house

Hill Top, home of Beatrix Potter, and the Lake District as a whole for that matter, is my recommendation for your staycation this year.
