Our Favourite Disney Rides

Regular readers and those that follow me on social media will know that I love Disney and I'm lucky that my family do too.

How To Get The Best Character Interactions At Disneyland!

Many of you will know that we love Disney! The movies, TV shows, toys, clothes and the parks! We love it all!!

We're incredibly fortunate to have taken our 4 year old son to Disneyland Paris twice but for now our Disney holidays are on hold and we are on the big save to go to Walt Disney World!
It's going to take a LONG TIME but we hope to take him in 3 years, although it's highly likely to be much later than that!

Return To Wray Castle

Unbelievably it's been over a year since we first visited Wray Castle. On our first visit we were really impressed by how child friendly it was. With it's baby and parent room, Peter Rabbit Adventure and soft play, Wray Castle makes visiting a historic place easy.

But nearly two years on does it still offer a happy kid friendly adventure?

Keeping The Cost Of The Family Holiday As Low As Possible

Collaborative Post

Summer vacations and holidays with the family are not cheap, are they?

It's not just the cost of the vacation to think about, but also the spending money for when you are there, the holiday clothes and accessories, as well as the toiletries you'll need.

South Lakes Safari Zoo

Based in Cumbria, South Lakes Safari Zoo offers an experience different to many other zoos! Walk around many areas of the zoo and the animals will walk alongside you! Without fences!!

When we planned our visit to the zoo I wasn't really sure how I'd feel with the animals walking around, especially some of the larger birds and kangaroos, but our 4 year old was really excited about our latest adventure so I just had to be brave!

5 Family Friendly Things To Do In Lanzarote

Sponsored Post

Holidays. Summer Holidays. Laying by the pool with the sun on your skin, chlorine in your hair, relaxing, may sipping a cocktail (or 3) can be amazing.

One of my favourite holidays was doing just this and is also happens to have been our honeymoon! Our two weeks in Lanzarote were so blissful and holds many happy memories for us.

We'd love to go back as a family and see what Holiday Gems Lanzarote has to offer. So I've done a little research into the top 5 places to visit in Lanzarote as a family!

Hill Top

Regular readers will know that I love a day out! Especially a National Trust one!! On our recent holiday to the Lake District we put our membership to work and visited three places in five days!!

My favourite though has to be Hill Top, the former home of Beatrix Potter. The 17th century farmhouse is a time-capsule of her life and gives a true insight to both Beatrix and her home.

Down By The Riverside Festival

The Down By The Riverside Festival is a annual family friendly event based at Dolphinholme, Lancashire. In it's second year, the festival is extremely popular with locals and the buzz of the event has started to spread.

Top 5 Must Haves For A Disney Day!

So you've saved and saved for a trip to Disneyland Paris but as it approaches you realise you're not sure what you'll need and what to take into the parks! As a Disney fan and having visited Disneyland Paris, as well as Walt Disney World, I am often asked what people should take with them into the park.

Kedleston Hall

We love visiting National Trust places. It's something both my husband and I were brought up on and wanted to carry on with our little boy.

When we became members nearly two years ago I wondered if there would be much for us to enjoy as a family but we've been to so many places! Our latest visit was to Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire, a country house built in 1759.

3 Ideas For A Very British Holiday By The Water

Collaborative Post

More often than not, when you think of British summer holidays, it’s likely that you picture a sandy beach in Wales but drenched by the rain! Where holidaymakers dressed in waterproofs and wellington boots watch the horizon while eating fish and chips, huddled together under an umbrella.

There’s a form of grey, cold, damp misery that we repeatedly associate with the British weather, and of course British summer holidays, but it doesn't have to be like that at all!

If being by the sea is a key element of your holiday and you want to avoid the disappointing rain and dampness, here are three places for you to try! So if you're still planning your summer break add these to your list! Both abroad and in the UK they are all quintessentially British but bring you fun by the water!

Belton House

Built in the 1680's for Sir John Brownlow, Belton House is described as 'a classic country house' by the National Trust. Set in 1300 acres of land it offers beautiful grounds, which are just waiting to be explored and enjoyed.

Belton House is around an hours journey from where we live in Nottingham, so it's on our radar for days out, especially as we're National Trust members. Back in June, with nice weather forecast, we set out for our first visit!

Choo choo - Our trip to Thomas Land!

Earlier in the year when our thoughts turned to Joseph's 3rd birthday we knew early on what we wanted to do for his birthday. He would have the usual family party but on his actual birthday we wanted to do something, just the three of us, and go somewhere we hadn't been before.

We wanted to go to.....................THOMAS LAND!!!

Gruffalo's Day Out

From the usual scrolling of social media I discovered that there's currently something afoot in the deep dark words, as adventures are lurking and there's Gruffalos to be found!

Conkers, Derbyshire

Conkers, situated in the National Forest, is advertised as a world of adventure and discovery for the whole family but is it suitable for a two year old?

Well, we visited Conkers on a damp New Years Eve. With a day free and some Tesco Days Out vouchers to use up, we found it to be the nearest place to visit.

Hello Santa!

Last year Joseph met Santa for the first time. We had planned to go the year previously to mark his first Christmas but I was struck down with various germs and we couldn't go. To make up for the disappointment the following year we discussed going on one of the Santa trains but with our trip to Disneyland Paris just around the corner we realised our pennies just wouldn't stretch that far. So, we finally decided upon a visit to Bluebells at nearby Spondon.

Wray Castle

Wray Castle is a mock-Gothic National Trust property, which perches on the shores of Lake Windermere. Built  in 1840 and used by Beatrix Potter and her family as a holiday home it is advertised as being kid friendly, but is it really??

Back in September we found out!

It was the standard rainy day in the Lake District when we arrived at Wray Castle. Luckily it wasn't overly busy so we could park in the small onsite car park. We walked with haste up the path as the toddler refused to have the raincover down on the pushchair! We were met by the sight of the impressive Gothic-styled castle. The kind you expect to see in a fairy tale. It was very Disney-esque
