Goodbye December...........and 2018!!!

Wow! December, Christmas and New Year have been and gone! Whisked by in a blink of an eye! So, it's time to say goodbye to December.

Just like everyone else December was a busy month for us but following the very busy, and somewhat stressful, October and November I just about managed to stay on top of things. Steadily getting organised and prepping for Christmas since the summer definitely paid off, especially when it came to the cost!

With family parties, time with friends and the all in important visit to Santa, we found ourselves with something to do every weekend.

Our Christmas was a quiet one. It was peaceful, restful and just the three of us. We loved our time together and it was great to go at our own pace. We made lots of happy memories, including our first family trip to the Panto! Joseph and I went with his nursery last year but this was our first time going as a family and it was ace.

Just like Christmas, our New Year was a quiet one too. We had a cup of tea, watched a movie and peeked out at the neighbours fireworks as the year came to an end.

I keep saying that not a lot happened in 2018 but looking back I realise now that so much has!

We were incredibly lucky to pay another visit to Disneyland Paris, especially as this will be the last one for quite a while now we have to stick to school holidays! We usually go in January as it's the cheapest time to go, where as school holidays certainly aren't!

We had work done to our house, which took a longer than expected and we realised we'd possibly gone a bit mad when we had the windows replaced during winter, just a week or two before the snow came!

We enjoyed time away in Derbyshire and the Lake District thanks to our old but trusty caravan! We took Joseph to see Beatrix Potter's house and I had a special little moment with our boy in my idols former home.

Speaking of our boy, Joseph turned the big 4 and started school. Those that follow me on Instagram will know I was an emotional wreck. I didn't just cry, I sobbed.

Another day of tears came when I left my long term office job but leaving was all for the right reasons though. I made the break for various reasons but mostly to give the whole self employed, blogging for a living thing a try and to also have more time with Joseph. Doing the school run and not have to worry about childcare has been a huge weight off my mind, most importantly though it's meant we still have plenty of time together. I'd been at my old job for nearly 13 years and the amazing people I worked with are definitely what I miss most about the place. Their friendship and support has meant so much to me.

2018 has made me really consider what I want for my family and I, what makes us happy and what we want for our future.

So come on 2019 lets see what you've got!
