How To Add Some Fun To Your Home Design

If you want to do something a little different with your home, you might want to consider adding some fun to it. I realise this sounds a bit strange and you may be thinking 'how do I add fun to my home design?'! 

Well, it's much simpler than you think and this post is to help you step away from standard designs and go for fun ones!

First off........

Try bright colours

Using bright colours is the best way to make your home a fun place to be. Most people spend so much time picking a colour only to pick something that matches everything in their home and is appealing to guests. Why not pick a colour that you really want, regardless of how bright it is? Whether it be bright pink or summer yellow, paint it the colour you really, really want. A colour that makes you happy could make your home a far more enjoyable place. Colours can reflect or influence your mood due to how the human brain makes a connection between them. So, if you paint a dark colour you may see your mood take a dip, but paint it a bright yellow, a colour that's associate with happiness and your mood may lift. You may find that the bright colours make you feel more homely when compared to a blank white or dull brown. Just pick whichever colour you want and love and your room will be bright and fun!

Jazz it up with fun paintings

An alternative to completely redecorating is adding some fun paintings or wall art to your room.  Just like painting in colours you should go with what you like. Some people hate clowns but if you like them and find a cool clown painting why not have it? Maybe unicorns or rainbows make you happy? Find a cool print and hang it on the wall. Anything that makes you feel joy when you see it will fit perfectly in your home. Even if it's just a bunch of random colours splattered all over the page go for it! Picking and hanging your paintings or wall art should be a fun experience and once done will make your home really standout from the crowd. It certainly won't be boring!

Go a little weird

If your property is currently pretty standard, why not go a little weird! Do something that people wouldn't usually do. For example, have you seen a piece of furniture that would typically be considered ugly? Maybe it's super bright or has a funky pattern but you don't think it'll be to guests taste. Well, it's your home, so ignore the masses and get that garish piece of furniture! If you're creative you could consider decorating the furniture yourself. Paint, dye or recover pieces to fit your new style. Just remember to protect the rest of your furniture and flooring before you start chucking paint around! People may say that your designs are kooky or weird but as long as it's to your taste and you have fun creating them, then I say got for it! 

Hanging accessories

Finally, have you thought about having hanging accessories? Whether theses are from ceilings or doorways, they provide a stylish addition to your home. Some people even replace their actual doors with accessories hanging from their door frame and this can look great, so look for some beautiful decorations. Stars, flowers, lights and plants are popular and can really make an eye catching addition to your home.
