Book of the week!

The Christmas tree maybe down but we're still a bit festive on the book front this week!

This week's book of the week is pop-up book, The Christmas Bear by Ian Whybrow.

Christmas Bear book

With illustrations by Axel Scheffler the bright and hugely detailed book has a very Gruffalo look to it.

The story tells the tale of a teddy bear left behind by Santa on Christmas Eve.

Keen to get to his receiver the bear chases after Santa's sleigh, hitching rides with different characters and by various means of transports as he goes.

Although the book is said to be *'pop-up' its not the kind of pop-up that displays as you open the page. You have to pull and lift as you go through the book but with lots of flaps and pull outs to discover it is ideal for both the inquisitive reader and for those that get bored easily.

It certainly grabbed Joseph's attention from cover to cover.

So, if you're looking to expand your festive selection of books add the good read, The Christmas Bear, to your list! It's currently available at Amazon here!

*A reprint of this book has taken place in late 2016, so the cover may look slightly different to this one. Its also now advertised as a lift-the-flap book instead of a pop-up!
