Oriental Fan

It seems ages since I've done a craft blog, so its time to get back into the swing of things!

As I write this Chinese New Year is near, so I thought it only right for it be part of this craft! So, here's how to make a super easy oriental fan!

You will need
  • Paper plate (70p for a pack of 30 @ Wilko)
  • Scissors
  • Glue (50p @ Wilko) or sticky tape (25p @ Wilko)
  • Crayons/paint or anything you have in your supplies
Equipment and stationary listed

Start by folding the paper plate in half.

Cut down the crease.

Using the crayons, paint or any other supplies you have let your little ones go creatively wild!

In honour of Chinese New Year I tried to guide Joseph in the direct of rend and gold but he's 2 years old and it was more multicoloured colouring, with a few gold and red stickers.

We also glued round the edge and sprinkled on glitter. This isn't something I'd recommend as the glitter went bloody everywhere!

Cut two strips from the unused half of the plate.

Two strips of card

Cross them over each other and tape or glue them to the back of the plate.

Strips of card crossed over and stuck to the back of the plate

These will act as handles on your fan. That's it you have done!
