Marzipan Pumpkin Bites

I love a good themed treat and Halloween is a great reason to create a new tasty recipe. These cute little bite-sized treats are great for a Halloween party or a simple spooky treat.

They are quite easy to make and don't take too long either!

If you'd like to give them a try you will need.........
  • 250g marzipan (around half a standard packet)
  • 6 tablespoons of icing sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of food colouring
  • Green coloured writing icing
  • Black coloured writing icing
  • Water
  • Cocktail sticks
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Chopping board or plate
These ingredients will make 12 pumpkin bites.

Ingredients and utensils listed

Make the marzipan into balls.

Open marzipan

Balls of marzipan in a bowl

Place the icing sugar into a bowl, add the food colouring and mix well. Add a few drops of water if required.  The icing will need to be runny enough for dipping but not so it runs straight off the marzipan balls.

Orange icing in a bowl

Place a ball onto a stick and dip into the icing.

Place on the board or plate to cool in the fridge.

After an hour or two take out of the fridge and use the writing icing to create the faces and storks.
