Shaun The Sheep Bookstagram Tour

We're super excited for the latest Shaun the Sheep movie, Farmageddon and it's on our watch list for half term fortnight!

Along with the movie there's a great selection of books being released and over on Instagram I'm hosting a stop on the bookstagram tour! If you're not familiar with online book tours I'll explain! Over a week or two, bloggers and Instagrammers host a spot on the tour with a review and today it has been our turn!

19 Books For 2019!

I love books and when I was younger I was a keen reader but as I've got older I've found that I barely read. Distracted by the TV or busy scrolling social media I rarely pick up a book, but do you know what I buy a lot of or ask for every birthday or Christmas?

BOOKS!!

Lots of books laid open with their pages showing

February Giveaway!

This month's giveaway is a little late to the party but it's finally here! As Reading Week has taken place at our son's school this term and with World Book Day next month, I thought it was fit to have a book giveaway! Two of them!

The first is this selection of ten children's books!

Book of the week!

Joseph has always been a bit of a book worm. As soon as he could roll around he would edge towards books over toys. Our shelves are now full of bought, gifted and handed down books. There's a huge and varied selection, with the favourite changing on a weekly basis. So, I thought I'd start a weekly post about the current fave, what its about and where you can get it.

Our first book is The Usbourne Dinosaur Jigsaw Book.

Goodbye September

I've never done one of these month in review type posts before but it's been a hell of a month, so I thought I might. Maybe it'll be therapeutic? Who knows!!?

September has been very up and down, not just for me but for us as a family. Some of it is just too personal to share.

5 Tips To Prepare Parents For School Life

For us the fun of the school run starts next week but as I recently went self-employed we've got into a bit of a relaxed routine.

Sleeping in later, getting to nursery when we feel like it and faffing around a lot!

We need to be organised and get into a routine! As a family we get a bit lazy and forgetful if we aren't sticking to a plan and schedule, so I'm getting organised ready for commencing the school run next week!

All my other school posts have been about preparing the kids but this post is for preparing us grown-ups! So, here are 5 things you can do to be prepared for school life!

1. Label clothes

Have you been so busy buying uniform and PE kit that you've forgotten the all important labelling? It's not too late! I used a stamp from Stamptastic, which I love but if you've not got time to order one have a look in your local school uniform shops for iron on labels. Many of them offer a service where they'll print your labels whilst you wait. Failing that a simple Sharpie or pen offer a quick fix!

There's A Fault On The Line!

As I write this one of my oldest friends is in slow labour with her first child. I feel all kind of emotions. Excited for the new arrival and that my friend is joining me on the mummy journey but nervous for her at the same time knowing what she still has to go through.

I find myself wondering if this time next year I could be holding my own new arrival. Another hobbit sized person in our home and our family.

The chances are I won't be.

I had hoped by Christmas I'd be giddy on Clomid again. I say giddy its more hot, hormonal, tearful and a bit sweaty. Yes, I had hoped for this but it would mean we are closer to having another baby.

After the cock up at the doctor's last week it now seems so far away.

Whatever happened to Mummy Snowy Owl?

I've been a bit slack on the blogging front over the last week or two, but its not that I've lost my mojo again.

The opposite in fact as I've got lots to share! It's simply that we've been concentrating on other things.

Having family time, days out, celebrating birthdays and enjoying the temperamental British summer!
