5 Ways I Manage My Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a strange illness. One day your fine and the next you're off your feet, hardly able to move. Bad days can vary from migraines to stiff joints, IBS to exhaustion, and it takes a while to get yourself feeling normal again.

Having suffered with Fibro for a couple of years, I have a couple of ways I help to manage the chronic pain and illness that it brings with it.

Here's 5 ways I manage my Fibromyalgia........

Painkillers
A bit of an obvious one but balancing out my medication is key to feeling well. I choose to alternate between paracetamol and ibuprofen. I am currently trying to avoid the latter though due to the damage it can do to your stomach but on bad Fibro days it's a must!

Cool Pads
I was introduced to these following a Deep Freeze freebie in my BlogOn goody bag and they really make a difference! Using either a cool pad or a roll on over the tense and problem area helps reduce the pain.

Oils
Essential oils added to a bath or lotion help to relax my muscles, but I also find the smell clears my senses and lifts my spirits. My favourites are lavender, peppermint and eucalyptus.

Salt Bath
When Fibro takes it out of me I often struggle to get warm, so I have a warm bath sprinkled with Epsom Salts to help warm up. With the salts helping to re-balance the body and remove toxins it leaves me super relaxed.

Early Night
Being in constant pain is exhausting and my Fibro flare are often brought on by over doing things, so after a good salt soak, it's time for an early night!
