I don't know about anyone else but the cupboard under our sink is a dark and dreary place. There's things in the wrong place and you can guarantee when you open the cupboard something will fall out and land on your foot!
I've recently mentioned on Instagram stories that I've been getting organised in the kitchen. I've joked that cleaning out two food cupboards has changed my life. I realise this is a little over the top BUT we are no longer routing through the cupboard looking for snacks we haven't got and disappointing the four year old, and we don't find ourselves missing dinner ingredients when we were sure they were there, somewhere behind the 5 bags of flour!
With those now done I decided to tackle the cupboard under the sink and as someone who pours over home organisation on Pinterest, I thought I share what I used and how I got organised!
Along with my laptop and printer I've used
- Vinyl labels - £11.99 from Amazon
- Avery website for creating the labels
- A ton of plastic containers that were littering up another cupboard!
I realise though that plenty of people don't have printers or laptops and if that's the case for you a sharpie pen or a roll of cheap labels will also do the trick!
Start by getting out all the plastic containers you want to use. Go through absolutely everything in your cupboard but maybe don't get it all out in one go as it could be a little overwhelming!
Sort through the items, grouping items together.
Box them up and add labels.
For tall bottled items, like bleach and sprays use a basket, container or box to keep them upright and tidy.
Stack up your boxes or containers in some sort of organised fashion!
I've put things like batteries and bulbs together, with wash powder and softener side by side.
Are you having a sort out or do you have a cupboard of doom? Let me know in the comments!

ReplyDeleteIt's so much easier to find things when they're organised and stored sensibly, rather than precariously balancing on top of each other! My MIL recently stayed the weekend at our house to baby sit, and when I came home, she'd organised my under-sink cupboard for me! Haha. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAnyway someone appreciated this post so much, they added it to the BlogCrush linky for some extra exposure! Congratulations! Feel free to grab your "I've been featured" blog badge from my site :) #blogcrush
This is exactly what I need right now. That cupboard has been a nightmare ever since we moved house and it's about time I dealt with it!
