Last Minute Christmas Checklist!!!

Christmas is now just days away and I've already posted about keeping calm and this is to help that!

A little list to make sure you've ticked off the important parts, timers and reminders to set and what we need to forget! So here we go........

Gifts

Is everything wrapped and ready? If not do you have the time to get them done? Consider getting gift bags as alternatives or place straight into sacks for the kids. Hubs and I do this for Joseph and each other it saves so much time on wrapping but also means less mess on Christmas morning!

If you still have gifts to buy consider shopping online, especially if you have Amazon Prime. If you don't sign up for a free trial! Also consider visiting shops just before closing as this will make you pick gifts quicker, stop you wandering around and the shops are usually a little quieter then.

Cards

Have you posted your Christmas cards? If your answer is no then it's a little late now as they won't get their for Christmas.

Christmas cards

Only hand deliver if you have the time as nobody wants to drive around in Christmas traffic! If it's someone that you barely see will they really miss your card or even notice?

Food

Have you got the essentials for your Christmas dinner? Treats for Boxing Day? Turkey, mince pies, stuffing, gravy, sauces etc? Dessert?

If like me you've got your freezer stacked up and ready to go will you remember to get everything out to defrost? Set a reminder on your phone so you don't forget to take out the turkey. If you don't want to spend hours in the kitchen on Christmas Day prep as much as possible the night before and write out your cooking timings. I've done this the last few years and it's made everything lots easier, quicker and means I get time with the family.

House Jobs

Lets start with cleaning and again like cards this is one that if it isn't important consider letting it slide.

Do you really need to have your whole house as spotless as it would be for a Royal visit if it's the same old friends and family wandering in and out? They're here to spend time with you and probably don't care if you've shampooed the carpets or washed your curtains. A quick tidy round and vacuum will do. You can always do a quick Shake n Vac to freshen things up!

Another house job that might need attention is your bins! Your bin emptying day is highly likely to change, so double check you've got the right one on the right day! You don't want to end up with a mountain of cardboard or veg peelings!

Hopefully this little checklist will help you keep calm and get things done. Thought of other bits that need doing? Make a list, check it twice, cross of the none essentials and you'll be fine!
