Book of the week!

This week's book of the week is one many of you will know. Although prior to having our little boy I hadn't come across it and I certainly didn't know until I read it that it had a festive feel to it!

This week's book of the week is Stick Man.

Front cover of the Stick Man book

A hugely successful book from the duo, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, it tells the story of the Stick Man, his Stick Lady Love and his three stick children.

In the usual Donaldson and Scheffler rhythmic tone with an array of wonderful illustrations, Stick Man is easily engaging when read by or to children.

One day Stick Man ventures out for a jog and is snatched away by a dog! This leads him to go on huge journey to try and get back to his family and we see him used as a mast, a Pooh stick, a pen, a boomerang and much more.

His fate doesn't look good when he is left in the snow and ends up in a fire place, but wait there's help on its way in the shape of a very, very well known figure who's stuck up the chimney!

Who can it be? And can they help Stick Man get home to his family?

Stick Man is available from most books shops and is available here from Amazon.

Our copy is a board book making it much more hard wearing for little readers (and page rippers!).

Definitely consider adding it to your collection, especially if you'd like festive books for the Christmas season!

Happy reading!
