Easter Bunting

Have your children started their Easter break? Want a craft to fill the time? Got toddlers who love to paint? Do you want to decorate for Easter? Well this Easter bunting craft is for you!

Multi-coloured egg shaped pieces of card next to a pair of scissors

To make this bunting you will need.
  • Paints (I used ready mixed paint that I had but a paint palette would do - £1.00 @ Wilko)
  • Pots or a palette if you're using ready mixed paints
  • Paint brush
  • Water pot or jar for brush rinsing
  • Card (£1.00 @ Poundland)
  • Pencil
  • Scissors or string (50p @ Wilko)
  • Tape
Craft supplies, including paint, glass jars, card, ribbon, tape, scissors and a paintbrush

This is a messy craft so remember to protect any surfaces, the kids and possibly yourself, from paint!

To start layout your card. If you're unsure of how many sheets to use consider the length of bunting you need and how many eggs it will take to fill it. I used four sheets and got six eggs out of each.

Now, if you are using ready mix paint squirt a little into your pots or palettes.

Give your little one the paint brush and let them get creative.

Try and get them to rinse between colours to avoid that lovely greeny-brown that somehow gets created!

Leave to dry.

Next turn the card over so the dried painted side is facing down and using the pencil draw eggs on the reverse. As my freehand isn't too good I made a template with the card so I could be sure they were the same size and alike!

Cut out the eggs with the scissors.

Cut a length of ribbon or string, ensuring its the right length for where you want to hang your bunting. Then using the tape secure your eggs on to it, leaving a gap in-between.

Hang in your chosen place and that's it you're done!

  8. What a beautiful (and achievable!) craft idea! My son is more about painting one sheet all one solid colour, but I think even that would make for some pretty bunting. Thanks for sharing with us at #SharingtheBlogLove
