A Very Snowy Christmas - 16 Weeks For An Organised Christmas - Week 6

Welcome back to A Very Snowy Christmas!!! A week by week for an organised Christmas!!!

Slide that reads - A Very Snowy Christmas - 16 Weeks For An Organised Christmas - Week 6

This week, and following on from our freezer and cupboard prep, it's time to talk food!!!

So, it's time for another list!!! Start by having a think about the food that you'll need in for the key days first. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We're going to list everything that you'll need. This might be a big list if you're hosting!!!

Remember to include the weekly basics too, like milk, tea etc. True story........I once missed off both of those things and we won't mention the time I forgot oil for the roast potatoes!!! Thank you next door neighbour for coming to the rescue!!!

Now, once you've got the key days down, add on food and essentials for the few days before and after too. Basically as long as you want to cover.

Remember to add in things for guests with allergies or intolerances too.

The next step is for those that do their food shopping online. Within the next week Christmas delivery spots will be released, so get in early for your preferred spot. To ensure you have the spot booked you'll need to add some items to your trolley and checkout like you usually would. Add in the items on the list you've made earlier and checkout.

Over the past few years I've done all kinds to get the Christmas food shop in!!! Deliveries at 6am, 10pm, braving the crowds and, in my pre-parenting days, going straight from the pub to Tesco when they opened just after midnight!!!

I try not to do these crazy things anymore and time my deliveries so anything fresh can be included and if it can't that it's only a quick trip for those couple of things.

Just to add that if like me you start picking things up now to pop in the freezer or cupboard to help spread the cost, you can star the items on the list and leave them off the Christmas shop, or add them anyway and take them off as you get them to ensure they aren't missed. Just make sure to checkout your online basket each time.

Remember to make a note in your diary or phone as to when the delivery will come.

If you're more of a do the shopping in person type, now's the time to book time out in your diary to get the food shop done. I have a friend every year that I have to remind to get her food shopping done but her schedule is so packed she often forgets until Christmas Eve roles around!!!

That's it for this week!!!

See you next week for more A Very Snowy Christmas, 16 weeks for an organised Christmas.

Katie
