It's Not Too Late To Plan Early!

The children are back at school and in-between the hot September days autumn is starting to draw in.

All of this can only mean one thing...........................................

Elf shouting Santaaaaaaaaaaa

Yep, we are on the slide down to Christmas. I've already done one blog about the run up to the big event and planning early, but there's so much to do I thought I'd do another. Plus I quite like Christmas. Time with the family, presents, decorations, carols and food.........especially the food.

Anyway here's a list of things to do to get you on the way to being Christmas and Santaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ready!

1. Buy your cards.
The Card Factory are full to the brim with Christmas stock already. Mum, Dad, Aunty, Dog, Cat, possibly Goldfish too. They also have the usual bargain packs. Great if you didn't bag any in the January sales.

2. Bake your Christmas cakes.
Do you usually bake your own Christmas cake? Or have you been hit by the Great British Bake Off bug and fancy giving it a try this year? Well, its time to buy the ingredients and dust off your pinny if you're planning a fruit cake. This will give you plenty of time to feed it with booze up until icing time.

3. Check out the toy bargains.
Toys R Us* have lots of offers on at the moment and so do The Disney Store. Ideal if you're on a budget.

*Update*
As of 2018 Toys R Us ceased trading

4. Book it.
The Christmas menus are out and its the time to book your Christmas do's.  Check TripAdvisor for reviews before booking.

5. Checkout the previews.
Many shops including Matalan and John Lewis offer members previews of their Christmas products. Keep an eye out for your invite by email or post. There's usually an added bonus of a goody bag and a glass of fizz!

6. Bag the best outfits.
The nicest outfits and funniest jumpers always sellout fast, so don't dilly dally and grab them as quick as you can! I still regret not getting the Matalan lettered scarves that were for charity.

Remember to plan ahead now for less panic later. Don't worry if you forget, I'll be back with another annoying Christmas blog soon!
