This week's movie of the week is an old favourite of Josephs and one that he would watch constantly around his 2nd birthday. It's this week's number one favourite but is actually a sequel. It's Shrek 2!
The follow on for the first Shrek movie, Shrek 2, is easy to watch and the kind of film you can watch and watch without wanting to bang your head against a wall.
Shrek, Donkey and Fiona return to the screen as we see Princess Fiona introduce Shrek to her parents. Fiona's father, King Harold of Far Far Far Away, is horrified to see his daughter in ogre form and with an ogre for a husband! The Fairy Godmother and her son Prince Charming convince him that Fiona is better suited to marry Charming and their scheming plan unfolds.
Wanting to see Fiona happy Shrek sets about changing himself so he can be accepted by her parents and the kingdom. Meeting Puss In Boots along the way their gang grows in numbers and funniness.
With voices from Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas and Cameron Diaz there are lots of laughs for the kids and plenty of grown up jokes for the parents. Shrek 2 is hilarious from start to finish.
There's also a kinder side to the story as it shows that you shouldn't have to and don't need to change yourself for your happily ever after.
