This week's book of the week is Elmer and the Wind.
I have read my nieces plenty of stories over the years but I hadn't come across Elmer the elephant until I had Joseph. A gift from his nursery for Christmas 2015, Elmer and the Wind amazed the baby Joseph with its bright colours. Now, as a toddler he's enthralled by the story of the cheeky elephant, Elmer.
Along with his cousin Wilbur, Elmer sets out to prove that a heavy elephant can't be blown away on a windy day. With him and Wilbur being silly in a cave next to the other elephants, they trick them into believing he has been swept away!
After an effort to rescue him turns out to be unnecessary the other elephants are unimpressed and don't believe Elmer when he calls for help again. Only this time he has been blown away! How will ge he get home?
Elmer and the Wind by David McKee is entertaining and engaging for book loving toddlers and beyond.
